TeleTown Hall Veterans Charity Scams

AARP hosted the Federal Trade Commission for two live, telephone town hall conversations on July 25, to make our members aware of a big takedown of scam veterans charities.  FTC officials and AARP experts shared tips on how to know if a charity is legitimate before donating.  Their advice: research charities before you donate, ask questions, think about how they ask you to pay, don’t feel pressured to act immediately.
