AARP’s illustrated HomeFit Guide offers smart ways to make homes safer and more comfortable for everyone, including older adults.

About the Event 

Empowering you to age safely in your own home, we’re bringing the guidance in AARP’s illustrated HomeFit Guide to life in a free virtual workshop.  

Creating a safer home for you and your family may require some improvements, but that doesn’t mean you’ll have to hire a professional contractor. We’ll be joined by Vince Butler, National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) Master Instructor and Aging-In-Place Specialist, who will share insights and answer your questions around staying safe at home - and staying in your home longer. We will guide you through several simple, inexpensive projects you can likely tackle on your own with either basic tools or no tools at all.  

We’ll go room-by-room to see how a few small fixes make a huge difference. You’ll also have the chance to ask a home professional questions about how enhancing safety features can help make your home a better fit for the long term.
