AARP Eye Center
Compassion in Action
Find out what your community can do to become safer and more welcoming to people living with dementia.
About the Event
AARP’s Livable Communities Initiative strives to help communities become great places to live for people of all ages and abilities by focusing on eight key community features, one of which is “Respect and Social Inclusion.”
To examine how this principle can improve quality of life for people coping with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, we have teamed up with Dementia Friends Massachusetts, part of a global public awareness program that helps communities become safer, more inclusive and respectful of the growing number of people living with dementia and those who care about them.
At this interactive session we will explore:
- What dementia is
- What it's like to live with dementia
- Tips for communicating with people who have dementia
